I'm Chelcee Porter, PharmD, IFMCP
I’m a functional medicine pharmacist who specializes in helping busy women overcome hormone imbalance and gut problems.Â
In 2020, I graduated pharmacy school and knew I didn’t want to be in conventional medicine (becuase fx med literally changed my life!) so I set out to become a certified functional medicine practitioner through the Institute of Functional Medicine. Since then I have helped countless women ditch their bloating, constipation, and fatigue for good. There is nothing I love more than educating and empowering women just like you to live their happiest and healthiest lives!
My Journey Into Becoming A Functional Medicine Pharmacist Started Back In 2018…
Before I found functional medicine I was struggling with my own health issues. I dealt with horrible stomach problems. Pain, constipation, bloating that made me look 6 months pregnant. It was awful. I was trying to make my way through pharmacy school so my stress and anxiety was through the roof. The worst part was that doctor after doctor was telling me that nothing was wrong and to take medications for the rest of my life.
But One Day, Something Amazing Happened….
I was in a cardiology lecture and we learned that diet and lifestyle changes were the first step in the treatment guidelines for things like high blood pressure and high cholesterol. It got me thinking if diet and lifestyle can help chronic disease, surely there is some way it can help me. That is when I stumbled upon the world of functional medicine.
From This Moment On, My Life Changed ForeverÂ
I started implementing everything I was learning and was shocked at the results. I was doing everything from changing my diet, implementing stress management techniques, changing up my workout routine, and targeted supplementation. I started to go through my days with no pain or bloating, something I had only dreamed about! I started to be able to fall asleep at night because my anxious thoughts didn’t keep me awake at night. Since I was sleeping better my workouts became more fun and I was finally losing the weight I had put on the few years before. My stress and anxiety melted away and I began enjoying life again! I literally stepped into the healthiest version of myself.
